Rangers to publicly unveil new manager at Ibrox on Tuesday or Wednesday

Rangers will publicly unveil their new manager at Ibrox on either Tuesday or Wednesday with an announcement due within the next 48 hours, according to The Sunday Post.

The newspaper reported via their back page on Sunday (15 October) that the new manager will either be Philippe Clement or Kevin Muscat with the Belgian and the Australian the only ones to reach the final round of interviews.

It is understood that Clement is the favourite at this stage despite the fact the ex-Monaco manager is also wanted by Saudi Pro League club Al Shabab.

The Sunday Post claims that despite interest from the Middle East, Clement would choose Rangers if he was offered a four-year deal by the Scottish Premiership side.

New Rangers manager deal now close

Rangers fans will be glued to their phones on Sunday as they wait for an update on who will be the next manager.

FollowFollow will no doubt see a surge of traffic as fans scour the forums for the latest while the likes of Chris Jack and Fabrizio Romano will have supporters waiting on bated breath on Twitter.

Will it be Clement, a multiple-title-winner from Belgium who’s out of work and has experience of being in charge in top European leagues?

Rangers

Or will it be Muscat, an Australian former Rangers player who’s doing well in Japan with Yokohama F Marinos?

While Clement is the favourite, Yokohama are playing against Urawa Reds in the semi-final of the J. League Cup on Sunday morning (15 October).

Are Rangers waiting until that game finishes to make an announcement over Muscat? Or is Clement in pole position for a reason?

We’ll find out soon.
