Rangers schedule Blue Room press conference to unveil new manager as decision made – Chris Jack

Rangers have scheduled a Blue Room press conference to unveil the Philippe Clement as their Michael Beale replacement, according to Chris Jack.

Writing for the Rangers Review (15 October), Jack claimed that Rangers have made the decision to appoint Clement after John Bennett and James Bisgrove’s extensive London discussions with candidates.

The club announced Clement’s appointment on Sunday (15 October), making him the 19th manager in Rangers history.

Decision made

The Blue Room will soon see the club’s new manager unveiled after Clement was confirmed as Beale’s replacement at Ibrox.

The mission for a new boss is over after the two-week long search. The likes of Kevin Muscat and Frank Lampard were considered in the initial stages, with Muscat seemingly second place, but the Belgian won the race.

While sacking a manager never comes at a good time, Rangers chose to pull the trigger right before an international break, giving them plenty of time to seek the replacement and have them introduced to the squad before the next game.

The players will need a quick boost, but will be keen to impress the new boss. After the poor strat to the season, very few players will feel confident in keeping their spot in the starting 11. Clement has a huge task on his hands in Glasgow, but he will be hopeful that make something of the season after Beale’s damage.

Sky Sports claimed (14 October) that the new boss is set to meet his new players at Auchenhowie on Monday where he will get his first look at what he has to work with. Hibernian will be Clement’s first opponent as the boss and his first time experiencing Ibrox as a member of the club.
