Rangers inform Kevin Muscat of appointment decision at Ibrox

Rangers have told Kevin Muscat that he is no longer in the running to be the next manager at Ibrox, according to talkSPORT.

The news outlet tweeted on Sunday (15 October) that the Gers are now set to appoint Philippe Clement to become the new boss at the Glasgow club.

It added that the final interviews have now taken place and the Belgian, who the Light Blues have had on their radar since he left Monaco at the end of last season, has now won the race.

Almost done

It looks as though the moment has almost arrived as Rangers are reportedly set to announce Clement as their new manager to replace Michael Beale.

It has been a long process that has taken place since the Englishman was sacked on 1 October following the defeat to Aberdeen at Ibrox.

The club have taken their time to appoint a new man as they know this is an extremely important decision as they look to turn their fortunes around following a disappointing start to the season.

Rangers

After initial interviews took place in London at the start of this week, the board had whittled it down to just Muscat and Clement, with the latter seemingly coming out on top in the final interviews.

It now looks to just be a matter of time before he is officially announced as the new Light Blues boss and he can start getting to work on what will be a massive job.

In other Rangers news, one Ibrox favourite could be finished if Clement is appointed as the new manager.
