Rangers agree personal terms with Kevin Muscat and Philippe Clement to become new Ibrox manager – Keith Jackson
Rangers have agreed personal terms with both Kevin Muscat and Philippe Clement to become the club’s new manager, according to Keith Jackson.
The Ibrox club sacked Michael beale almost two weeks ago and are set to return to action in one week, with the club hopeful of having a new manager in place by then.
And reliable journalist Jackson, writing in the Daily Record (14 October) says a financial package has been agreed with both final candidates ahead of a final decision being made.

“Record Sport understands key discussions were still taking place yesterday between the Ibrox club and candidates Phillipe Clement and Kevin Muscat,” they wrote.
“It’s believed both men have been quizzed over a raft of issues which could yet determine the identity of the last man standing in a process which began almost a fortnight ago.”
“We also understand that the respective financial packages for both contenders have been thrashed out which means there should be no obvious cause for further delay once Bennett and his board has settled on the preferred candidate.”
Time to go
It’s great that the club are taking this appointment so seriously, because they simply cannot afford to get it wrong at this point.
But we’re getting into the dangerous territory of overthinking it and also giving the new man little time to get his ideas across to the squad and players ahead of the clash with Hibernian next week.

A decision simply has to be made now and someone has to step up and take th at responsibility quickly, because we can’t lose more time.
Someone has the final say and that person will have their opinion on who the better candidate is, so they need to make the decision for the good of th e club now.
Most people are expecting Clement to get the nod, but Muscat has clearly made things difficult with his interviews and willingness to take the job. Whoever it is has a huge ask ahead of them, but fans will get behind them and the board will have to back them too.
