Far-East money men push Kevin Muscat heavily at Rangers as new manager twist emerges
A group of “Far East money men” are pushing heavily for Kevin Muscat to be the new Rangers manager, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
Writing for his Patreon on Friday (13 October), Nixon did, however, note that Phillipe Clement is closing in on the role.
The Scottish giants are without a manager after Michael Beale was sacked, with player Steven Davis currently in interim charge.

Discussing Clement, Nixon wrote on his Patreon: “The Belgian has emerged ahead of Kevin Muscat as the chosen candidate and it is now down to agreeing terms and a budget.
“It has been a close call, with Muscat pushed heavily by some Far East money men who are shareholders in the Glasgow club.”

Huge decision
The Rangers board have taken some time to weigh up all their options, but a manager needs to come in as soon as possible in order to get things back on track at Ibrox.
It now seems that Clement has been chosen as the man to lead the club into the future, with former Gers player Muscat narrowly missing out on the role.
The decision may just be a blessing in disguise for the latter, who now looks set to be able to continue his managerial career elsewhere in a role that does not come with the huge pressures at Ibrox.
Fans constantly expect goals and wins, with the ability to overcome fierce rivals Celtic in every way right at the top of the long list of priorities.
Perhaps Muscat would have thrived in the role, but he may just be better off continuing to ply his trade away from Glasgow.
And who knows, the role may come up in the near future once again, with the former Ibrox men certain to be among the leading candidates if it does.
In other Rangers news, one pundit is “amazed” at a behind-the-scenes Gers decision amid the club’s hunt for a new manager.
