Spotted: Kevin Muscat celebrates in Rangers colours amid new Ibrox manager speculation
Kevin Muscat has been spotted celebrating in Rangers colours amid the speculation linking him with a move to Ibrox.
Yokohama F Marinos posted a video on Twitter on Wednesday (11 October) that showed the Australian celebrating in blue, red and white after leading the Japanese side to a 1-0 J League Cup semi-final first-leg win over Urawa Red Diamonds [Daily Record].
The 50-year-old is believed to be one of the favourites to replace Michael Beale as the new Gers boss, with talks continuing with candidates this week.
In the mix
It appears as though Muscat is well in the mix to be the new Rangers manager after a number of people have been linked with the job over the past couple of weeks.
The Gers hierarchy are taking their time over the next appointment as they aim to make sure they get the right person in to take the club forward.
The Aussie could be a reasonably popular choice if he does emerge as the preferred candidate after previously playing for the Light Blues.

But with Philippe Clement also in the running, there is no guarantee that Muscat will be handed the top job at Ibrox over the next few days.
The Yokohama boss is still focused on his position with the Japanese side, but he will no doubt be keeping an eye on what’s going on in Glasgow in the hope that he’s done enough to be offered the role.
In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton and Kris Boyd have been caught in a heated on-air dispute about the manager’s position at Ibrox.
