Rangers new manager: Final submissions due for Ibrox board as ‘megabucks’ twist emerges
Rangers could wait until next week to appoint their new manager after Philippe Clement and Kevin Muscat impressed in talks, according to the Scottish Sun.
The newspaper reported via their website on Wednesday night (11 October) that the Gers are “determined” to ensure their next appointment is the right one and they won’t be rushed into making a decision.
It is understood that chairman John Bennett and CEO James Bisgrove have led interviews along with Graeme Souness and “final submissions will now be made to the board before any offer is made”.

Muscat is currently in charge of Yokohama F Marinos in Japan and is due to take charge of a J-League Cup semi-final second leg this weekend.
Ex-Monaco boss Clement is unemployed but the Scottish Sun claims Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab “are ready to make a megabucks offer” for the Belgian.
Who is favourite for Rangers manager?
Right now, it seems to be Clement despite the interest from the Middle East.
He’s without a job and is a proven manager in European football having won Belgian Pro League titles with both Genk and Club Brugge.
Although things didn’t go too well for him in a year and a half at Monaco with Clement finding himself sacked in the summer after a sixth-placed finish in Ligue 1, he seems a better pick over Muscat.
If Muscat had never played for Rangers, would he be linked with the role?
If he wasn’t an Australian boss managing at Ange Postecoglou’s former club in Japan, would he be linked with replacing Michael Beale?
We really don’t think he would and those two facts about the Australian don’t mean he’s a good appointment when Clement at least has experience of managing top clubs in continental Europe and winning league titles with them.
Muscat has won titles too with Melbourne Victory in Australia and Yokohama last season in Japan. But so what? It hardly stacks up in comparison.
In other Rangers news, Bennett is due to make a presentation to the board.
