No need for Ibrox panic as Sky Sports share ‘inaccurate’ Rangers manager update

Rangers are taking their time when it comes to appointing their next manager following the sacking of Michael Beale.

The boss was dismissed by the powers that be at Ibrox after the club’s disappointing start to the new season in all competitions.

Veteran midfielder Steven Davis has been placed in temporary charge, but that looks certain to change in the very near future as the club search for a permanent manager.

It might not all be going swimmingly behind the scenes, as is often the case when a new man in the dugout is needed, but talk of a fallout is a step too far, according to Sky Sports.

The publication reported on its website on Wednesday (11 October) that: “Rumours of disagreements over who to appoint from the various options are understood to be inaccurate – as decision-makers continue to spend this week examining all possible options before selecting the right long-term fit for Rangers.”

With so much change in the dugout in recent times, from Steven Gerrard to Beale, and Giovanni van Bronckhorst in between, stability is most certainly needed.

Celtic are not exactly running away with things in Scotland under Brendan Rodgers just yet, having had their own managerial issues recently, but the threat is definitely there if Rangers are not careful with their next appointment.

Fortunately, time is certainly on their side due to the current international break, with a new boss then likely to be in place before Rangers meet Hibernian at Ibrox later this month in their first game back.

In other Rangers news, a BBC Sport journalist has shared a “copying Celtic” verdict amid the club’s manager hunt.
