Rangers’ search for a new manager remains incomplete as sources deny boardroom split
Rangers’ process to appoint a new manager remains incomplete despite rumours of a boardroom split over who should replace Michael Beale, according to the Scottish Herald.
The newspaper reported on Wednesday (11 October) that Kevin Muscat and Philippe Clement are favourites for the position and have both been interviewed with the whole week blocked out to ensure the Light Blues take their time to make the correct decision.
Sources close to the club say that it is impossible that there is already a disagreement between in the process as the process to appoint Beale’s successor has yet to be completed, with the findings still required to be presented to the wider board members.

Explaining the process Jonny McFarlane wrote: “Suggestions there is a disagreement between key Ibrox decision-makers as to who will take the role have been strenuously denied by sources who point out that talks remain live.”
Andy Devlin a Scottish Sun journalist, had said earlier on Wednesday (11 October) that there was a split present between the Rangers board as they were unable to decide between either Clement and Muscat.
Don’t panic
Rangers have said from the start that they are going to take their time to get this next appointment at Ibrox right and they seem to be ensuring that they stick to that promise by meticulously investigating who out of Muscat or Clement would be the better fit.
But the initial hope was that whoever took over at Ibrox would have most of the international break to work with the squad to prepare for the clash with Hibernian and we’re already three days into the two weeks off and players will be back in training sooner rather than later.

Rangers supporters should be relieved that the rumours of a split in the boardroom aren’t true as it would have been another blow to what has been a difficult start to the campaign both off and on the pitch for the Light Blues, however, a decision has to be reached soon.
Beale has been out of the job for a week and a half already and those in charge at Ibrox should be closing in on their preferred candidate. There is little to separate Muscat and Clement and it is a toss-up who the united Gers’ board will elect to appoint in the coming days.
