Rangers manager update emerges on Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement appears to have made his decision after having talks with Rangers as well as Saudi Arabian club Al Shadab, according to Gazet van Antwerpen Stad en Rand.

The Belgian newspaper reported in its print edition on Wednesday (11 October, Page 8), that it does not seem he will be moving to the Middle East.

His switch to Ibrox appears to be getting closer and closer after the Gers made a concrete proposal.

Right decision?

It appears to be a straight shootout between Kevin Muscat and Clement and looks like the latter is the favourite for the job.

Giving him the job also seems a lot easier as he’s not currently employed and thus there’s unlikely to be that kind of resistance.

Muscat, despite being in Asia, will have a decision to make over leaving a club where everything is working for him.

For Clement, he can now get the chance to manage in Europe and perhaps win another league title and build a new side.

Whether or not Paul Mitchell moves with him to Ibrox remains to be seen but Gers do need a sporting director and that partnership will make a lot of sense.

For now, it will be about getting a manager over the line and Clement seems to be the clear frontrunner.

In other Rangers news, an award-winning manager has now asked his representatives to set up an interview with the Ibrox hierarchy as he aims to succeed Michael Beale.
