Philippe Clement itching to set record straight and become Rangers manager
Philippe Clement is itching to set the record straight at Rangers if he gets the job after his struggles while in charge of Monaco, according to the Daily Record.
The newspaper stated via its website on 11 October that Clement’s exit from the French side was both surprising and sudden, after losing five of his last seven games in his only full season in charge.
Now, though, the Belgian boss has emerged as the favourite to take the reins at Ibrox and is keen to put right the wrongs of his time at Monaco, with his “fierce” reputation now on the line.

New pastures and a fresh start
Should Clement get the job at Rangers, it will provide him with an opportunity to reignite the positivity around his management, and to return to the excellent form he had his Monaco side in before a disastrous end to his tenure.
Having taken over halfway through the 2022/23 season with the Ligue Un club, he guided them to a very respectable third-place finish, but his second year and first full season at the club saw his influence fade, with a faltering finish that saw the club pull the trigger.
This, however, has not changed the general perspective that he is still an impressive manager. Rangers have targetted him as one of their first-choice options for the job, and he has now emerged as the favourite to take the role.

Gers have looked to beat Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab to his signature, despite a reported big-money offer on the table from the Saudi club, such is the esteem they hold the Belgian manager in, and they will be hoping his priority is a move to Glasgow [Arriyadiyah].
The announcement of the next Rangers manager is surely near.
