Jonathan Sutherland shares timeline update for new Rangers manager appointment as talks to continue
The final interviews for the Rangers managerial job are likely to continue until the end of the week, according to Jonathan Sutherland.
Writing on the BBC Sport website on Wednesday (11 October), the Sportscene host revealed that the working week has been blocked out to allow enough time for all the candidates to be given “full attention and consideration”.
He added that Philippe Clement and Yokohama Marinos manager Kevin Muscat are reportedly among the candidates being interviewed, with chairman John Bennett and chief executive James Bisgrove leading the talks.

Understandable
It is completely understandable that the Rangers chiefs are taking their time on the new manager before presenting their final decision to the club’s board.
They want to make sure that they get the right person in place to steady the ship and be able to take the Gers forward after they have largely gone backwards over the past year.
The next Light Blues boss will have to work with – and get a tune out of – the several players Michael Beale brought in over the summer as he looked to revamp the squad.

The negative to the process taking so long, though, is that it has now eaten into the international break, which would have been the ideal time for the new manager to work with the players without the pressure of any matches.
But it seems unlikely they will get that opportunity until next week now, with a decision not expected to be made until the end of the week.
In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton and Kris Boyd have been caught in a heated on-air dispute about the manager’s position at Ibrox.
