John Bennett to make presentation to Rangers board as interviews concluded for new manager
Rangers have finished interviewing managers for the vacancy at Ibrox, according to The 4th Official.
The reliable Ibrox news outlet reported via Patreon on Wednesday (11 October) that it’s “essentially down to Phillipe Clement and Kevin Muscat” to succeed Michael Beale in the Ibrox hot seat but other managers were spoken to.
It is understood that with the interviews finished, chairman John Bennett and CEO James Bisgrove will make a presentation to the Rangers board “very soon”.

Former Monaco and Club Brugge manager Clement is reportedly the favourite at this stage. The Belgian is currently without a job while Aussie boss Muscat is still in charge of Yokohama F Marinos.
Is Clement the best?
Let’s face it, it’s quite underwhelming to see that these are the final two contenders.
However, both have more about them than Beale did, who simply got offered the job by his mate Ross Wilson after Giovanni van Bronckhorst was sacked.
Hiring Clement seems straightforward as he’s currently out of work.
He did well in Belgium with Genk and Brugge but failed miserably at Monaco.

Muscat is doing well in Japan with Yokohama but there’s something about that which seems very lazy.
We’ve had two former Rangers men come in as managers in the last two appointments and between them, they haven’t lasted two years.
Muscat is not only a former player for the Gers but he’s also an Aussie coaching at Yokohama so this just seems like copying Celtic’s homework in some aspects.
Clement may be the best option here but we don’t hold too much hope for either.
Still, we’ll support them all the same until it all goes pear-shaped in a few months’ time.
In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton and Kris Boyd have been caught in a heated on-air dispute about the manager’s position at Ibrox.
