Zack Lovelace shares update on social media after Rangers injury setback v St Mirren
Rangers wonderkid Zack Lovelace has revealed that he picked up an “unfortunate” injury in the 3-0 win over St Mirren on Sunday and hopes to be back soon.
Two goals from Ibrox fan favourite James Tavernier and Abdallah Sima’s seventh strike for his new club meant managerless Rangers leapfrogged their opponents into second place in the Scottish Premiership.
However, 17-year-old Lovelace who was handed a rare opportunity to impress by interim boss Steven Davis was forced off after just 40 minutes of play and the youngster took to his Instagram (9 October) to share his delight at his opportunity, before addressing his injury.

He wrote: “Happy to get my first start for Rangers and to be involved in the first goal. Unfortunate to pick up an injury but I shall be back soon”.
Quick recovery hope
Lovelace remains one of the most exciting prospects at Ibrox and when he walked off the pitch against St Mirren in serious pain, many of the Rangers faithful may well have been fearing the worst.
When a player is forced off the pitch after 40 minutes or any time during the first half it is never a good sign, especially when you’re associated with Rangers given their dreadful treatment table right now.

However, Lovelace’s social media message certainly points to him being back in action fairly quickly, with the hope he can kick on and appear for Rangers more under the new permanent boss across the rest of the campaign.
A player with incredible gifts and a youthful exuberance that any manager will be very excited to work with, as shown through Davis’ faith in giving him the start he craved.
Let’s hope that this latest setback isn’t a serious one so the Rangers faithful can see him take to the pitch again soon after the international break.
In other Rangers news, Bisgrove may have to let the cash fly for one exciting trophy-winning managerial candidate who looks a certainty to succeed at Ibrox.
