Sam Matterface shocked live on talkSPORT as Alex Crook slams Rangers with ‘bare minimum’ claim
Winning the Scottish Premiership title is almost the “bare minimum” for any Rangers manager, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.
The Gers currently have Steven Davis as their interim boss after Michael Beale was sacked due to a poor start to the season.
The Scottish side have had three managers in the space of two years, with Steven Gerrard, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Beale all leaving in that period.

Discussing former Gers boss Gerrard, Matterface said live on talkSPORT: “He won the league at Rangers, they hadn’t won the league for ages.”
Crook replied: “You could win the league at Rangers. Come on. You’re in a two-horse title race.”
Matterface then interjected: “That is so dismissive of not only that league, but also of Rangers, because ultimately what you’re saying is it doesn’t matter who is in the dugout.”
Crook responded: “I’m just saying it’s not that much of a success as Rangers manager to win the league. It’s almost the bare minimum.”

High expectations
Expectations are very high at Ibrox, with everyone connected to the Gers wanting silverware every season. That has not been the case in the blue half of Glasgow very often in recent years, with the likes of Van Bronckhorst and Beale finding out the hard way what happens when you do not deliver trophies.
Interim boss Davis will now give it a good go in the dugout, but the player will be well aware that he is just in a temporary role, with the search for a long-term successor to Beale currently underway.
Fierce rivals Celtic will be welcoming the messy situation at Ibrox, but manager Brendan Rodgers will be paying little attention to it as he looks to focus on his own club.
The Bhoys currently top the Scottish Premiership table with 22 points, with seven wins and one draw from their eight matches so far, with Rangers in second place on 15 points.
