Blow

Rangers have missed Jack in their midfield in recent times, with the 31-year-old lasting just 45 minutes in the recent clash with Aberdeen.

He was hugely impressive in that encounter, but unfortunately was withdrawn at half-time in what was Michael Beale’s last game as manager of the Gers.

Interim boss Steve Davis was then not able to call upon his midfield teammate for the meetings with Aris Limassol and St Mirren.

And now Scotland boss Steve Clarke will not be able to consider the player for selection due to the injury. Along with their huge clash against Spain, the nation also take on France in this international break in friendly action next Tuesday (17 October).

The manager does, however, still have the likes of Scott McTominay, Callum McGregor, John McGinn and Lewis Ferguson to call upon in midfield. It is certainly a blow for Jack, who would have been keen to extend his tally of 16 international caps for Scotland.

In other Rangers news, Gers fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as an “unmatched” Brendan Rodgers statistic emerges.
