Ibrox mismanagement slaughtered in newspaper, ‘Rangers simply don’t have the money’
Rangers don’t have the money to reconstruct another squad after their summer spending, according to Gary Keown.
Writing on page 95 of the Scottish Mail on Sunday’s print edition on 8 October, the journalist said it is “hard to see” where the club goes from here and how they recover from this “never-ending mismanagement on an industrial scale”.
He added that the Gers’ recent failures in the transfer market and performances on the field are also “bad news” for the Scottish league as a “sellable product”.

Got a point
Keown has a point in his assessment because the behind-the-scenes work from Rangers simply hasn’t been good enough over the past couple of years.
The club has certainly gone backwards and whoever comes in to replace Michael Beale following his sacking is inheriting a number of players that simply don’t look up to it.
There has to be a better strategy towards recruitment put in place because the Gers are simply well off the pace and the SPFL title is already getting away from them.

As the journalist points out, that is also bad for the league because it means Celtic are likely to run away with the title and that could have an impact on future sponsorship deals.
It is hard to see how the Light Blues can get themselves back into the reckoning and challenge for titles, with the next managerial appointment and the strategy moving forward crucial to their future hopes.
In other Rangers news, an official club partner was left disgusted by what the Gers players did against Aris.
