Official Rangers partner delivers verdict on former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard

Heart and Hand believe that Rangers fans will not welcome former Chelsea and Everton manager Frank Lampard at Ibrox.

The former Premier League midfielder is understood to be out of the running to succeed Michael Beale at the Ibrox hot seat.

The club’s official partner feels that it’s the right call given his track record and reputation among fans currently.

Via Twitter, they wrote, “No matter what you think of Lampard as a manager – and as listeners to our EPL show know, I don’t think much – the fans simply wouldn’t have accepted him.”

Good news

One of the glaring issues during Lampard’s time at Chelsea was his inability to solidify a strong defensive unit.

Despite having a squad with expensive defensive talent, his Chelsea side often looked vulnerable at the back.

His overreliance on young players saw him win over the fans in the short term, it resulted in inconsistent performances and put immense pressure on inexperienced shoulders.

Lampard, who has been praised by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, also struggled to get the best out of some high-profile signings, such as Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

Their underwhelming performances under his management raised questions about his ability to develop and integrate new talent into the squad effectively.

His performance at Everton was equally underwhelming and once he returned to Chelsea on an interim basis, it was shown just how badly out of his depth he was.
