Reliable journalist drops Rangers manager update amid ‘False Reports’ in media
Agents are trying to push their clients into the frame for the Rangers job to “cash in” on the chaos at Ibrox, according to the Fourth Official.
The club sacked Michael Beale to end his ten-month reign at the club on Sunday, with the Gers seven points behind Celtic already following three league defeats in the opening seven games of the season.
Several names have been put forward as candidates for the role including the likes of Marcelo Gallardo, Frank Lampard and Kevin Muscat but according to the reliable journalist many names are being put forward with no substance.
“By the way, a lot of false reports in the media about this situation as several agents are trying to cash in on this situation by pushing their candidates into the news,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (6 October).
Expected
When you’re a club with a history as rich and successful as Rangers, then it should be expected that people will look to cling to that to get their own name in the limelight.
There are some names that are clearly not doing that such as the people already mentioned above, but there are some names that are never going to get the job but are “putting their name in the hat” simply so that people don’t forget that they exist.

Fans are obviously hungry for news to know what the club are doing behind the scenes, but it’s important that the club don’t get sucked into hiring the biggest name and instead go for the right candidate.
It will be interesting to see who it is that eventually comes into the job because there doesn’t seem to be any outstanding candidate on this occasion, especially not amongst the fan base anyway.
But the Rangers board simply cannot get this appointment wrong after two failed appointments in the last two years, so all eyes are firmly on what they do next.
