Rangers expect to reach final verdict on new manager hunt ‘early next week’
Rangers expect to reach a “final verdict” on their new manager hunt by early next week after talks with five candidates, according to Alan Nixon.
The Gers sacked Michael Beale on Sunday (1 October) and have already held talks with Frank Lampard as well as made contact with Kevin Muscat and Philipe Clement about the role.
They are now planning for talks with Kjetil Knutsen and Pascal Jansen before making their final decision early next week, says Nixon writing on his Patreon account (5 October).

“The Ibrox outfit have already met Frank Lampard and made contact with Aussie ex Rangers player Kevin Muscat and former Monaco coach Philipe Clement for the prestige post,” he said.
“However there are two more to talk to by their team of officials before a final verdict which is due early next week.”
Excellent
We know the club don’t want to rush the decision to appoint a new manager, but we are also aware that there isn’t an unlimited amount of time that they have to get this decision right.
There is one more game to go against St Mirren before an international break, but the club should be looking to get the new man in through the doors as quickly as possible so that he has as much time to work with his new squad and hit the ground running.

Michael Beale managed to score a four-game winning run with four straight clean sheets after the last international break which shows what can be done in that time, so we need to see what the new man can do.
Right now there doesn’t seem to be a preferred candidate or a leading contender for the job which means it’s up for grabs, but the club simply cannot afford to get this one wrong.
