David McCarthy: Steven Davis sick to his stomach after what Rangers players did v Aris
Steven Davis would have been sick to his stomach at the performance of the Rangers players against Aris Limassol, according to David McCarthy.
Writing on page 49 of the Daily Record’s print edition on Friday (6 October), the journalist said the interim Gers boss had looked “relaxed” before the game, but that would have quickly changed after the Light Blues were 1-0 down inside nine minutes.
After the Cypriot side doubled their lead on 59 minutes, Abdallah Sima grabbed a consolation with 20 minutes to play, but it wasn’t enough as the Light Blues fell to a 2-1 defeat, with McCarthy adding that the club’s fans have had “more than enough” of the players.

Infuriating
It must be absolutely infuriating for the Rangers fans to see what is unfolding at the club on and off the field at this moment in time.
With all due respect, a club of the Gers’ stature should not be going to Cyprus and be beaten by the likes of Aris – it just simply can’t happen.
This would have been a game the Light Blues would have earmarked for a victory as they look to progress through to the knockout rounds of the Europa League, so it is a massive setback on that front.

A major issue is that Beale was handed the tools to bring in the players he wanted over the summer and, after the majority of them have shown they are not good enough for the level, huge questions need to be asked about the club’s recruitment strategy.
There needs to be more thought put into these matters because the next manager is going to be charged with trying to get a tune out of these players, with the jury very much out on a lot of them.
In other Rangers news, Chris Jack has shared a “surprised” admission as he detailed the timeline for a new manager appointment.
