Steven Davis may be out of his depth as Scott Wright starts for Rangers v Aris Limassol
Steven Davis may be out of his depth as he’s opted to put Scott Wright in the Rangers eleven against Aris Limassol in the Europa League.
While Gers go into the game as favourites, away European days are no gimmes and they’ve got to be aware of the challenge posed by their opponents.
Instead of playing another midfielder, perhaps someone creative, he’s gone for Wright, who’s not really been at his best this season.
Wright, 26, appeared to be on his way out in the summer as he was deemed surplus to requirements and that was the right assessment.
He has been given chances but he’s not at the level where he strengthens the playing eleven so starting him does not seem to be the wisest of calls.
As Rangers fans eagerly anticipate the clash against Aris Limassol, there’s STILL an air of excitement and optimism in the Ibrox faithful.

The Gers, under the guidance of Davis, gearing up for a crucial European encounter.
After a disappointing start to the season, this game could be the perfect way to start a run of wins and establish a consistent first team for the new manager.
Right now, the players need not focus on that and need to concentrate on getting the three points this evening AND hopefully, Wright comes out with flying colours.
In other Rangers news, Alan Shearer has delivered a claim on Gers’ Europa League camp after what Gary Lineker said recently.
