Simon Jordan slams Rangers ‘failure’ Michael Beale live on talkSPORT as ‘no credentials’ claim made

Michael Beale has made life difficult for himself following his exit from Rangers, according to pundit Simon Jordan.

The talkSPORT pundit believes the manager was wrong to commit his future to former club QPR shortly before taking on the role at Ibrox.

Beale was sacked by Rangers on Sunday (1 October), with midfielder Steven Davis taking over from him on an interim basis.

“I think he has made life very difficult for himself,” Jordan said live on talkSPORT. “Because I don’t think he’ll be respected for the ridiculousness of what he said and then completely u-turned.

“He only knows it now because he’s been caught out in the trap of the failure that has come his way, which is that he has got his rewards. He potentially betrayed the trust that was put into him by QPR, jumped when it suited him with no credentials, and that’s on Rangers for making the wrong decision.

“And he has now put himself in the wilderness, because no-one is going to really look at him as someone that has achieved very much. They are also going to look at him as someone that potentially says one thing and does another, and those aren’t the components you want in your dugout.”

Land on his feet?

It is, of course, far too early for Beale to take another venture into management, with the boss set to be disappointed for quite some time after his failures at Ibrox.

Hugely frustrating defeats against the likes of Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and fierce rivals Celtic will live long in his memory, as will the heavy Champions League qualifying loss to PSV.

But he should land on his feet in the months to come, with plenty of opportunities no doubt set to come his way given the sacking culture in modern football.

The manager didn’t, however, do himself any favours at QPR despite committing his future to them amid interest from Wolves.

When Rangers came calling, Beale simply couldn’t refuse the opportunity to make the step up from assistant to the main man at Ibrox.

It has, however, ultimately ended in disaster for all parties involved, with veteran midfielder Davis now hoping to clean up the mess.
