Ex Chelsea manager Graham Potter could take Jose Cifuentes to next level at Rangers
Former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter has been linked with the Ibrox hot seat after Rangers decided to part ways with Michael Beale.
Steven Gerrard’s former assistant failed to live up to the high standards his mentor set and was shown the door after a summer in which the club backed him in the transfer window.
Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards told the BBC podcast Transfer Gossip Daily on 2 October that Gers have sounded out the former Premier League manager.

Potter, most recently failed at Chelsea and was sacked within months of being given the job to replace Thomas Tuchel.
However, his performance at Stamford Bridge was symptomatic of the chaos behind the scenes and Rangers will be a far better environment to thrive in.
His work at Brighton speaks volumes, especially with how he improved his midfielders and he could have the same impact on Jose Cifuentes.

Moises Caicedo and Alex Mac Allister were both unknown commodities before they started working under Potter at the Amex Stadium.
However, within a few months, he managed to get a tune out of them like no manager previously has and saw one being sold for a record-shattering transfer fee while the other one played a pivotal role in guiding his side to a World Cup win.
Cifuentes, who’s still to hit the ground running at Ibrox, could do well with a manager like Potter as he could maximise his ability to play progressive passes and being an all-action number eight.

While they are different leagues to consider, it’s evident that Cifuentes’ stats are similar to Mac Allister and the ex Chelsea manager may just be the right man to get the best out of him.
Pep Guardiola, who’s widely seen as the best manager around, has also been on record multiple times stating just how big a fan he was of the Englishman.
Whether or not he’s open to the Rangers job, remains to be seen, but the club need to try their best to bring him in.
In other Rangers news, Alan Shearer has delivered a claim on Gers’ Europa League campaign after what Gary Lineker said recently.
