Rangers manager update emerges today with six interviews now likely
Rangers are set to interview “half a dozen or so” candidates to take over the vacant managerial position at Ibrox after sacking Michael Beale, according to Alan Nixon.
The Sun journalist shared via his personal Twitter account on 4 October that these candidates would be assessed by the club as part of the formal application process.
Nixon responded to a fan who was asking about the situation regarding AZ Alkmaar manager Pascal Jansen, who has been linked with the job alongside the likes of Frank Lampard, Kjeli Knutsen and Kevin Muscat in recent days.
Assessing all of their options
Several names have been put forward in the media, and several have already withdrawn from the process, but Rangers will do their due diligence and assess all options before making the final decision, with at least half a dozen managers set to be scrutinised by Ibrox chiefs.
The likes of Lampard, Knutsen and Muscat have been linked with the job, but it remains to be seen whether they are invited to the interview process, with bosses at Rangers still deciding on their next move.
A report from Football Scotland shared that the club would take their time over their decision, keen to avoid similar issues to which they faced when hiring Beale in the first place, in what has been determined a rushed and avoidable process.

On the other hand, Keith Jackson suggested in the Daily Record that the interviewing process could begin as early as next week, with John Bennett and James Bisgrove spending the coming days analysing the credentials of their potential options.
Things are heating up now.
