Kevin Muscat has Zoom interview arranged in Rangers manager news – Chris Jack

Rangers have arranged an interview with Kevin Muscat as their search for a new manager gets underway, according to Chris Jack.

The Rangers Review journalist has shared a text he received with the news without revealing who it was actually from, with talks heating up at Ibrox.

The Yokohama F. Marinos boss and former Rangers defender is out of contract in January and looks to be one of the favourites for the Ibrox hotseat after the sacking of Michael Beale.

Speaking live on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on October 04, Jack said: “Just a quick update on a text message that I’ve got, I can’t tell you who it’s from.

“Kevin Muscat has a Zoom interview arranged so I’ll be trying to get to the bottom of that one over the next couple of hours. Could be breaking news, could be nonsense.

“Given the person it is from, I’m inclined to believe.”

Heating up.

With the first interview said to be arranged, the Rangers board are looking to kickstart things and get the ball moving in finding the successor to Beale.

James Bisgrove is said to have remained in Glasgow instead of travelling to Cyprus for the Europa League clash with Aris Limassol on Thursday 05 October, as he looks to kick on with the manager hunt [Scottish Daily Mail].

Muscat is completely different to previous managers such as Beale and Giovanni van Bronckhorst and would no doubt bring steel to Ibrox that has been missing for quite some time.

The Australian will no doubt bring comparisons to Ange Postecoglou across with him if successful in his interview, but he would be the first to throw them aside.

Bisgrove has been tasked with appointing his first manager at Rangers, and it is no doubt the biggest decision he will ever make throughout his career already.

This has to be right, and Muscat looks to be the first to stake his claim.

In other Rangers news, a journalist has named who he considers to be an “outstanding” candidate for the Ibrox position.
