Rangers manager news as interviews could begin as soon as next week at Ibrox

Rangers could begin their interview process in the search for a new manager as early as next week, with the next few days expected to be spent examining various contenders, according to Keith Jackson.

Jackson shared the news via the Daily Record, as he claimed AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen and Kilmarnock’s Derek McInnes are expected to form part of the conversation as James Bisgrove leads the search for candidates.

Bisgrove and chairman John Bennett are reportedly set to assess their candidates over the coming days before deciding who they will invite to join the interview process.

Moving to get it done

If the report is true that the interviewing process could begin at Ibrox as early as next week, Rangers are moving very quickly to secure their replacement for the departing Michael Beale.

One report from Football Scotland on 2 October suggested the club would take their time over the process to avoid rushing into any decisions, as the general feeling is this is where they went wrong with appointing Beale, and that a thorough assessment process would lead to the next hire.

Less than 48 hours after Beale was sacked, there have been plenty of rumours about who may be in line to take over at Ibrox, and if the interview process is set to begin next week then it’s clear the board have some names in mind that they will want to speak to.

Rangers

One of the biggest issues this season for Rangers has been a lack of direction and a clear style, with Beale failing to instil his philosophy on his team, so it will be expected that this angle will be of paramount importance when assessing the new options.
