Sky Sports share Rangers approach update on Kevin Muscat and Pascal Jansen amid Ibrox links
Rangers have not made an approach for either Kevin Muscat or Pascal Jansen to be their new manager, according to Sky Sports.
The publication reported on its website on Monday (2 October) that the Gers are currently drawing up a shortlist to replace Michael Beale.
As per the official Rangers website (1 October), the club have parted ways with Beale, with Steven Davis appointed on an interim basis.

“It is understood former Chelsea boss Graham Potter had not been approached for the role – despite reports,” according to Sky Sports.
“Ex-Gers defender Kevin Muscat – who succeeded Ange Postecoglou at Yokohama F Marinos when Postecoglou joined Celtic – has also been linked with the job.
“While it is reported Muscat and AZ Alkmaar boss Pascal Jansen would be interested in speaking to Rangers – no approach has been made as the club draw up a shortlist of suitable candidates.”

No rush
Given how midfield man Davis has been appointed on an interim basis, it seems that the powers that be at Ibrox do not have a ready-made replacement lined up.
They are, instead, seemingly taking their time, perhaps in order to avoid the mistake they made when appointing Beale.
There is undoubtedly a long list of potential candidates out there, with such candidates definitely licking their lips at the prospect of a move to Ibrox.
Along with the club’s superb history and fanbase, they have plenty to play for this season, with the Gers in the League Cup semi-final.
The league title is still well within reach given how the season has only really just started, while the Scottish side are also in the Europa League, and have made a great start in that competition with an opening day win over Real Betis.
It is a very attractive job, but the reigns must be handed to the right person, with that task proving difficult for Rangers in recent years.
