New Rangers manager update as Kevin Muscat issue emerges already
Kevin Muscat has emerged as a potential successor to sacked Rangers boss Michael Beale already and is said to be welcome to a European return, according to FTBL.com.
The online news source claimed on 2 October that the timing may be an issue though, as his Yokahoma F. Marinos side remains in defence of their title won last season.
Questions have been raised about whether the boss would be willing to jump ship at this time, although it depends on Rangers’ urgency in hiring a new boss. Regardless, it is claimed Muscat is looking for a second chance in Europe.

A difficult job to turn down
History has shown that the Rangers’ job is notoriously difficult to turn down. Beale proved that himself as he left his high-flying QPR side mid-season to move to Glasgow, and the same could now be the case with Muscat.
What both managers have in common as well, is a former affiliation with the club. Beale worked as Steven Gerrard’s assistant manager, while Muscat previously played in the blue of Ibrox, which would likely make turning down the opportunity even more difficult.
Of course, similarities can be drawn with former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou. While his arrival was in the summer rather than halfway through a season, he too departed Japan in search of one of the biggest jobs in European football.

His arrival at Celtic had triggered many questions about his suitability for the job, but his eventual exit was met with well wishes for his success. If Muscat can do what Rangers as Postecoglou did for their rivals, he’ll have done a good job.
In other Rangers news, a new interim boss has been named at Ibrox.
