Jim White shares senses of next Rangers board decision after Michael Beale sack
Jim White has shared his feelings on the current situation at Rangers, suggesting the hierarchy remains in doubt over the future.
Speaking on talkSPORT (2 October), the presenter noted the “unrest” at Ibrox, which ultimately led to Michael Beale’s sacking.
Left seven points adrift of Celtic in the league and with a host of new signings yet to make their mark, a replacement is yet to be found for the Englishman.

White said: “I’m not entirely sure they know in what direction to go next. There is a feeling of unrest and a feeling that the people at the top of Ibrox don’t really know what to do next.”
Stuart Pearce responded: “Well there’s a gulf, isn’t there, between Rangers and Celtic. As I was told and explained on the situation up in Scotland, you’re either first or you’re nowhere.”
Uncertainty
Often it feels like a poor decision to depart with a manager without a replacement in the wings ready to take over, but the Ibrox hierarchy deemed it that Beale’s time was up.
The Aberdeen defeat was the final nail in his coffin, but finding someone up for the task of bringing success back to Rangers will be no easy task, especially with the “unrest” that White pointed to.
Glasgow World claimed (2 October) that the club has made a list of potential candidates, with Chris Wilder, Kevin Muscat and Frank Lampard among others Rangers are interested in holding talks with, suggesting that plan are, as expected, in motion.

While these options could offer Rangers success, the state of affairs in Glasgow does not make the job too appealing. The summer signings were brought in to Beale’s approval, so a new boss may not fancy using the likes of Cyriel Dessers or Sam Lammers, which could impact the happiness of the squad.
While many fans have got their wish to see the back of Beale, they will remain frustrated if the board do not take decisive action on a high-quality replacement. The season can still be saved, especially with silverware on the line in the form of the League Cup, but time is running short.
