Rangers make sack decision on Michael Beale, Fabrizio Romano shares what Ibrox sources confirm
Rangers are on the verge of sacking Michael Beale, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing via his personal X account on Sunday evening (1 October), Romano reported that sources have confirmed to him that “it’s almost over” for the Englishman at Ibrox.
Rangers are already seven points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership after losing 3-1 at home against Aberdeen on Saturday (30 September).
It’s almost over
Beale should never have been hired by Rangers and now it looks as though the new Ibrox board is going to right a major wrong of their predecessors.
Ross Wilson lazily hired Beale because he was his pal and he’s worked with him before at Ibrox – not because he has anything in the way of serious experience managing a massive club.
Sure, he did well for a couple of months at QPR but he soon changed his tune about loyalty there when Rangers came knocking while his behaviour when Giovanni van Bronckhorst was under pressure was real snake-in-the-grass stuff.

Beale’s overseen terrible recruitment and even worse results than van Bronckhorst did, even though Celtic have been in a bit of a rough patch having lost Ange Postecoglou and controversially re-hired Brendan Rodgers.
Losing away to Kilmarnock on the opening day of the Scottish Premiership season was bad enough but losing at home against Celtic and Aberdeen, as well as crashing out of the Champions League in embarrassing fashion (again) suggest that he’s well and truly out of his depth.
Who will come in to replace Beale? We have no idea but it cannot be too hard to find someone better.
In other Rangers news, Chris Jack has raged at a “shambolic” incident at Ibrox.
