Rangers could now sack Michael Beale as ‘tipping point’ reached – Chris Jack

Chris Jack believes it is impossible to see how Rangers could still manage to mount a title challenge under Michael Beale after the defeat to Aberdeen on Saturday (30 September).

Writing on the Rangers Review website on Saturday, the journalist said the 3-1 loss against the Dons could be the “tipping point” for the Englishman.

He added that the coming days will “determine his fate” as the Gers boss has found himself at the “centre of the storm once again” at Ibrox.

Rangers

“Rangers could well recover from seven points behind Celtic and win the Premiership title,” said Jack. “But it is impossible to see how they do that with Beale in charge and this abject defeat to the Dons could well be the tipping point for the Englishman.

“Performances such as this are not sustainable for a side that wish to challenge for silverware. And results such as this are certainly not after another Premiership stumble so early in the campaign. This could prove to be one too many for Beale.

“The coming days will determine his fate but the court of public opinion has already passed judgement. The reaction at the whistle was furious as Beale found himself at the centre of the storm once again. If he survives, it will surely be a stay of execution.”

Unlikely

It seems incredibly unlikely that Beale would be able to transform this Rangers team from their early-season showings to being a genuine title contender.

They have already lost three SPFL games this season after losing just four throughout the whole of the last campaign, where they still finished seven points behind Celtic.

That is the same gap the Gers already sit behind the Hoops having played just seven matches, so there just doesn’t seem to be any way that the Englishman can overhaul that deficit.

Rangers

After picking up four straight victories and as many clean sheets over the past few weeks, there were suggestions that things were looking brighter at Ibrox.

But the latest defeat to Aberdeen has undone all that good work and it just seems a matter of time before Beale will be sent on his way as the Light Blues board will look to salvage what’s left of the season, even at this early stage.
