Michael Beale sack decision to be made ‘before Monday’ amid ‘impossible’ Rangers situation
The Rangers hierarchy will make a decision on Michael Beale’s position at the club before Monday following their loss to Aberdeen, according to Mark Wilson.
Speaking on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard (30 September), the former Celtic and Scotland international claimed that the environment at Ibrox after the poor start is “impossible” for Beale to work in, made worse by the 3-1 home defeat to the Dons.
Wilson claims the board will make a decision before the weekend to determine Beale’s future as Rangers sit seven points adrift of Celtic.

Wilson said, as quoted by Inside Futbol: “I think a decision will be made before Monday. I don’t think Michael Beale will limp on, just because of the toxic nature inside the ground after the game and what we’re hearing on the phones.
“So how can you limp on when that is the atmosphere with your support? It becomes an impossible environment to work in.”
Looming
Pressure has been looming from day one for Beale this season. Their opening-day defeat to Kilmarnock set the tone for, at best, an underwhelming start to the season.
At worst, the recent 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen could spell the end of the Englishman’s time at Ibrox. Discussions are no doubt being had among the Rangers hierarchy.
Reports of the club profiling replacements, including The Sun’s claim (13 September) that Graham Potter was asked about the job, suggest that a departure has been on the cards for a number of weeks.

Getting the Gers fanbase back on side does look like a Herculean challenge for the former Queens Park Rangers boss. Catching up with Celtic could now be unattainable, and with the Hoops securing a 97th-minute winner against Motherwell on Saturday (30 September), luck certainly seems to be favouring the other side of Glasgow.
The fixtures are coming thick and fast for the Gers, so any replacement will be thrown right in at the deep end. Poor league form, a “toxic” environment at the club and stands full of angry Ibrox fans do not exactly make the position appealing for prospective managers, but a big decision will be made regardless.
In other Rangers news, a journalist has slammed a “truly woeful” and “poor” Ibrox signing.
