Sky Sports journalist makes Rangers v Aberdeen prediction as ‘under pressure’ claim made

Aberdeen are in for a “tough afternoon” when they take on Rangers, according to Sky Sports journalist Alison Conroy.

The Dons travel to Ibrox for their Scottish Premiership clash on Saturday (30 September), with the home side sitting third in the table.

Aberdeen meanwhile are seven points behind their upcoming opponents, sitting 11th in the league table after six matches.

Rangers

“Michael Beale has been under pressure but Rangers have the chance to make it five wins from their last five games when they host Aberdeen,” Conroy wrote for Sky Sports.

“Barry Robson’s side are yet to win away from home and it could be a tough afternoon against the side with the best defensive record in the league this season.”

High confidence levels?

Rangers have not been at their best this season, with plenty of disappointing results going their way, even in these early stages.

They should, however, have a good bit of confidence going into the match against Aberdeen given their current run under Beale.

He has been under plenty of pressure of late, but his Gers side are currently on a four-game winning run, having kept clean sheets in all four of those matches.

That run includes an impressive Europa League group stage win against Spanish side Real Betis, and a commanding 4-0 win against Livingston in the League Cup quarter-final.

Key to the match against the Dons could be the Ibrox faithful, who will hopefully turn up in their numbers and in full voice, at least as far as Beale is concerned.

The man in the dugout needs the backing of the fans right now, having come under plenty of scrutiny in recent weeks.

In other Rangers news, a Gers coach has spoken out on the pressure on manager Beale as an “all scenarios” claim is made.
