Sam Lammers distances himself from Rangers fans anger amid ‘honest’ teammate talks
Sam Lammers has distanced himself from Rangers fans’ anger and admits he has had “honest” talks with his teammates.
Speaking at a press conference (29 September), the summer striker signing pointed to his side’s improved performances in recent fixtures, but admitted that Rangers should be winning every game.
Lammers took responsibility and claimed that all he and his new teammates can do is improve performances on the pitch.

Lammers said, as quoted by FootballScotland: “There’s a lot of new signings so I think it’s normal that the fans expect a lot from all of us. We try to give everything for the club and do as best as possible to make fans happy, but I’ve not followed it too much.
“I knew it already before I came here because Rangers should win every game and if that’s not the case it’s normal to hear rumours from the outside or negativity. But the only thing we can do as a team is be honest with each other and look at what we can improve.
“I think we did it really well last week and there’s another good big game ahead of us. I haven’t been surprised, I said it already, every game we need to win and this is pressure I like, to play for prizes and with that comes with pressure for the whole team.”
Honest
Lammers has struggled in his first months at Ibrox, but his honesty will be refreshing for Rangers fans to hear.
Naturally, actions speak louder than words. Lammers and the rest of his Ibrox teammates are clearly aware that the performances in the early stages of the season did not meet expectations.
Lammers faced a baptism of fire in his first weeks at the club. As part of the starting 11 that suffered the opening-day defeat to Kilmarnock and having failed to make an impact from the bench in the Old Firm defeat, fans have not seen the best of the £3.5million man.

Early signs have been there for the Dutchman, netting twice so far in 13 appearances against Livingston in the Gers’ 4-0 league victory and earning a consolation goal in their 5-1 Champions League exit against PSV Eindhoven.
Often hearing all the noise from an understandably angry fanbase would not do a player any good, especially as a new signing. While the Ibrox faithful have and will continue to voice their anger when performances are subpar, Lammers must remain focused and do his best to become a bigger threat on the field.
In other Rangers news, an Ibrox man may demand a behind-scenes exit talk after what Beale did against Livingston.
