Rangers ace Leon Balogun reacts as Glen Kamara sends message after Leeds United full home debut

Rangers defender Leon Balogun has reacted to Glen Kamara’s message to Leeds United fans following his full home debut for the Whites.

The midfielder left Ibrox to join the Championship side in the summer, and started for the first time in the 3-0 win against Watford on Saturday (23 September).

He played 90 minutes in the comfortable league victory, having come off the bench against both Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall earlier in the month.

Taking to social media on Thursday (28 September), Kamara wrote on Instagram: “Full home debut. Thank you for the support so far.”

Among those reacting to the message from Kamara was his former Rangers teammate Balogun, with the pair having played together from 2020-2022.

Keeping tabs

The duo only played together for a few seasons in Glasgow, but Balogun is clearly keeping tabs on how Kamara is getting on at his new club.

The midfielder has been eased into life at Elland Road by Whites manager Daniel Farke following his summer switch from Scotland.

But he looks to be settled after playing a key role against the Hornets, playing 90 minutes before being replaced by fellow summer signing Ilia Gruev.

Kamara spent several years at Rangers as a firm favourite, but a long list of summer signings from Michael Beale forced the Finland international to move on in search of regular playing time.

And that is certain to arrive in West Yorkshire, with the 27-year-old undoubtedly set to become a crucial player in his club’s search for immediate promotion back to the Premier League.

He can bring plenty of experience to the Elland Road club, having made almost 200 appearances for Scottish giants Rangers.

In other Rangers news, a Gers coach has spoken out on the pressure on manager Beale as an “all scenarios” claim is made.
