Official Rangers partner reacts as Danilo shares injury update on social media

Four Lads Had a Dream shared their reaction as Rangers striker Danilo posted an update on his injury recovery on social media on Friday.

The Brazilian clashed heads with Liam Gordon in the process of scoring for the Gers in their 2-0 win at St Johnstone on Saturday [16 September].

An update provided by the Daily Record on Sunday [17 September] said that Danilo was facing “several weeks” on the sidelines after suffering a fractured cheekbone, which was confirmed by Michael Beale [BBC Sport, 16 September].

In a new social media message from the striker on Twitter on Friday afternoon (29 September), Danilo shared that he is “almost there” as he posted a picture saluting the club’s fans while in the gym.

Official club partner Four Lads posted an immediate response, posting “Hurry back.”

Desperately needed

However long it takes Danilo to recover from the head injury, it is important he does not rush back to the field because any severe eye injury like the one he suffered could have damaging long-term effects.

The collision at McDiarmid Park was nasty to say the least, denying the 24-year-old the chance to celebrate his goal in front of the Gers fans after such a brave and clinical header.

That goal was supposed to help Danilo kick-start his Ibrox career and the injury came at the wrong time.

After the latest injuries to Kemar Roofe and Rabbi Matondo, it seems as though Beale desperately needs the former Feyenoord striker back fit and firing as soon as possible.

The Gers are suffering from a depleted attacking weaponry right now but must be given great credit for managing to grind out four wins from four in the midst of the injury adversity at Ibrox.

The test is now, can they carry on that form with the injury problems mounting after Roofe’s injury blow on Friday ahead of Saturday’s critical test against Aberdeen?

Danilo certainly won’t be ready for Saturday’s encounter but his update certainly seems to suggest that he could be available for selection in the next fortnight – an encouraging development for Beale and everyone involved with Rangers.

In other Rangers news, the club have held talks with an Ibrox star’s representatives over new contract.
