Kemar Roofe injury doubt emerges – Early Rangers team news v Aberdeen

Kemar Roofe is a doubt for Rangers’ clash with Aberdeen after the striker was “away for a scan” having been substituted with an injury in the Light Blues’ win over Livingston.

The Rangers boss revealed in his pre-match press conference on Friday (29 September) that the forward was away from the squad currently, but said he had “no news” on the striker’s injury, saying it was disappointing for the player, but they “hope it’s not too serious.”

Roofe has started three Scottish Premiership games so far this season and has impressed when deployed just behind the striker both domestically and in Europe, but was withdrawn at half-time during the Viaplay Cup win over David Martindale’s side.

Beale also provided further injury updates, saying: “[Nicolas] Raskin is back with the rehab team. Dowell is back out in very light training.

Keep going

Rangers seem to have finally got their season up and running following an indifferent start to the campaign and they now need to continue that momentum when they welcome Aberdeen to Ibrox on Saturday.

Having not lost since the September international break the pressure has begun to ease on Beale, but should the Light Blues drop points once again against Barry Robson’s side, it won’t take long for the boos to start again and calls for the manager to be sacked.

Aberdeen have by no means had a good start to the campaign and have only won once in their opening five matches having put four goals past Livingston on Wednesday night, Beale will be hoping his side will fair better than they did against Motherwell in their last league match.

Rangers

Beale is having to contend with plenty of injuries currently at Ibrox, but even with so many players sidelined the Rangers squad should have far too much for Aberdeen to handle and anything less than three points, especially at home will be disappointing.

Some of the new signings at Ibrox look to have finally found their feet and Rangers fans will be hoping they can continue their winning streak, especially as Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic look clear favourites when they face Motherwell. Rangers need a win to keep the pressure on the Hoops.
