Robby McCrorie could call for crunch Rangers transfer exit talks after another Michael Beale snub v Livingston
Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie has swiftly become an afterthought at Ibrox and he may force Michael Bele into crunch talks after yet another snub in their 4-0 win against Livingston.
The Gers maintained their status as favourites to win the Viaplay Cup after a convincing victory over Livingston (27 September) set up a November semi-final showdown with Hearts.
Goals from Abdallah Sima, Ridvan Yilmaz, an own goal from Livingston defender Luiyi de Lucas and a late Ryan Jack strike ensured Beale and his men a fourth win in a row in all competitions and a fourth consecutive clean sheet.

Beale will have been incredibly delighted at the performance of his injury-ravaged squad, putting to bed all doubts about their performance levels and match sharpness after their disappointing showing in the 1-0 win over Motherwell on Sunday (24 September) which led to a chorus of boos after the match.
While Rangers will certainly be moving on to Saturday’s crucial clash against Aberdeen at Ibrox with confidence and optimism, forgotten Ibrox man McCrorie may well be having more nightmares over his future at the club after yet another snub from Beale.
Despite Jack Butland impressing as Beale’s number-one goalkeeper, the Ibrox boss will have been well inclined to hand McCrorie his first start since May against Livingston seeing as it was a cup fixture, a competition Beale will have been expected to rotate.
However, it was another brutal snub which may force the 25-year-old shot-stopper to demand talks with the Rangers manager over what will occur over the next few months, and of course the January transfer window.

The Rangers goalkeeper has been a bit-part player at Ibrox ever since his emergence in the first team in August 2021, and since then he’s only gone on to make five league appearances.
The Light Blues reportedly want as much as £1million to sell McCrorie this summer, with Mail Plus reported on 11 August, that Premier League giants Manchester United were joined by Hull and Polish champions Rakow Czestochowa in battling for the 25-year-old who is “unsettled” at Rangers and “eager to start afresh away from Ibrox”.
However, no move materialised and he stayed put looking to challenge Butland for the number one spot but right now, that looks a damaging impossibility, especially after Beale’s remarks (TNT Sports, 21 September) over the former Manchester United goalkeeper after his stunning individual showing against Real Betis.
It is clear, Butland is now swiftly the undisputed Rangers number one which McCrorie certainly knows now but needs to make a frank and brave decision for his career.

He is now at an age where he needs to be playing football to aid his development and ultimately go on to fulfil the burgeoning potential he showed during his four-game spell towards the end of last season.
In McCrorie, Rangers certainly have an able and talented deputy but that does not mean he won’t be seeking an exit route in January.
Serious crunch talks need to be held with Beale, and that may take place very soon after this latest snub.
In other Rangers news, the club have held talks with an Ibrox star’s representatives over new contract.
