Rangers hold talks with Borna Barisic’s representatives over new Ibrox contract
Rangers have held talks with the representatives of Borna Barisic over a new contract at Ibrox, according to a report by Football Scotland.
The Croatian left-back is currently set to see his contract at the club expire next summer, with Dinamo Zagreb reportedly interested in signing the 30-year-old on a free transfer.
But Rangers are keen to see him renew his deal in Glasgow and talks have already been held with his agents and representatives ahead of the January transfer window.

“It’s understood Barisic’s representatives have held talks with the Ibrox club over an extended deal and others are likely to as well,” he said.
Interesting
If the club are looking to renew Barisic’s contract at the club, then it would suggest they’re not that confident in the future of Ridvan Yilmaz.
The Turkish defender was signed in a £4m deal two summers ago and has really struggled to nail down a first-team place after suffering with injuries, and was even left out of the club’s squad for the Europa League group stages this season.

That puts Barisic in a great negotiating position as it seems as though he will be first-choice for a while longer, and if Michael Beale is still the manager then he’ll be favoured.
But a return to his homeland could be something that appeals to him, and if that’s the case then Rangers won’t be getting any money in for him unless they sell up early on in January.
That seems unlikely though, and it seems like a new deal is the most likely option so it will be interesting to keep an eye on in the coming weeks and months.
In other Rangers news, four senior players could leave Ibrox next summer.
