Official Rangers partner thrilled with what Alex Lowry did for Hearts v Kilmarnock

Rangers midfielder Alex Lowry, who’s loan at Hearts, came off the bench to score a late winner against Kilmarnock on Tuesday, 26 September.

The game at Rugby Park appeared to be heading towards a stalemate in regulation time, but the 20-year-old scored a superb goal in the 92nd minute of the context.

This saw Heart and Hand, Gers’ official media partner, wax lyrical over that finish.

They wrote on Twitter, “Alex Lowry goal for Hearts, had only been on park a few seconds. Incredible finish actually.”

First-team level soon

Lowry has always been one of the best young players at Ibrox and it was the case of him being too good for the academy but not quite ready for the first team.

A move to Hearts this summer on loan made a lot of sense and it’s good that Michael Beale also felt the same way about his progression.

He has played four league games this season and his scoring goals in cup matches is just the way to show why he deserves more senior football.

A good 20-25 first-team games under his belt this season will do wonders for his development and he’ll be a different player when he returns next summer.

Still only 20, the sky can be the limit for the young Scotsman if he continues progressing at this level and makes the most of his loan spells.

If he’s a regular starter at Hearts, he’ll certainly be worth a bench role at Rangers in the 2024/25 season.
