Injury Expert explains misdiagnosis of Rangers forward Tom Lawrence setback

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...

Rangers incorrectly diagnosed a muscle strain as a cramp for Tom Lawrence who’s expected to return after the international break, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that based on the duration out, it cannot be a mere cramp as that’s something players brush off pretty quickly.

Michael Beale stated after the game against Real Betis that it seemed innocuous but the Wales international suffered a reaction the following day.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

A muscle that originally seems to be a cramp can turn out to actually be a muscle strain.

That looks to be the case here and it is worse than earlier suspected because of a reaction faced by the player.

Not sure on what muscle specifically was injured but since he’s out until after the October international break, I’d expect him to return to training around that period.

Lawrence has suffered multiple injuries since his move to Rangers and does not appear to catch a break.

He’ll be hoping that he’s ready to be fit for months at a stretch once he recovers post the international break in mid-October.

Gers have not started the season too well and Lawrence has proven on numerous occasions that he is capable of making the difference on his day.

In other Rangers news, Alan Shearer has delivered a claim on Gers’ Europa League campaign after what Gary Lineker said recently.
