Sam Lammers accepts Rangers boos as new arrivals have played enough to settle at Ibrox
Rangers forward Sam Lammers has accepted the Ibrox crowd’s boos following their 1-0 win over Motherwell on Sunday, believing the new players have had enough time to adapt.
Michael Beale’s side came out on top at Ibrox on Sunday (24 September) but the final whistle was greeted by a chorus of boos from the home side, given the uninspired and unconvincing display from Rangers in front of their home crowd.
Lammers, who arrived at Ibrox this summer, should have likely found the net having had a couple of good goal-scoring opportunities in the match, was understanding of the crowd’s reaction.

Speaking following the game, as quoted by the Daily Record (25 September) he said: “When you win you hope to get the fans behind you but this was just not a good match for us, I think that was clear, so they let us know we have to do better.
“Obviously we have talked about the things we have to do better, because there were loads, but this is between the team.
“I had opportunities to score. I tried to create for the team, to start attacks. On a lot of occasions, this worked well but I had a few opportunities to score myself so I am a little disappointed this didn’t work out. But yes, we have played enough games already… we have had enough games now as new players.”
Better
While there are positives to be taken in Rangers’ ability to find a way to win even when being so far away from their best level, the truth is it’s inexcusable for Beale’s side to be performing to such a poor level, especially at Ibrox where they should be dominating teams.
For the Light Blues to be clinging on for a point against Motherwell is not what the Ibrox crowd expect from their side, especially not only days after they managed to beat Real Betis in the Europa League in an impressive display where things looked to have clicked into place.

Individually, Rangers have to see more from Lammers in the coming weeks, despite having eight shots in the win on Sunday, the 26-year-old only registered an expected goals of 0.39 and he has proven wasteful so often when he gets the chance to score.
Creatively he has improved, laying two chances on for his teammates against Motherwell, but the Dutchman was brought in to improve the Gers’ frontline and in turn score and assist goal and in six Scottish Premiership matches, he has one goal and no assists.
Beale and the Rangers supporters need to see more end product from Lammers in the coming weeks and a greater level of consistency in general in their side for the boos to stop ringing around Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, Beale may have found his centre-back formula as Ben Davies and Connor Goldson extended their unbeaten streak
