Kenny Miller shares ‘low on confidence’ Cyriel Dessers verdict after Rangers 1-0 v Motherwell

Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers is “low on confidence” and “toiling for his best form” according to former Gers man Kenny Miller.

The verdict comes despite the summer signing getting on the scoresheet in his club’s 1-0 win against Motherwell on Sunday (24 September).

Dessers, however, didn’t know much about the goal after Rabbi Matondo’s strike deflected off him and into the net in the 24th minute.

“One thing is for sure – Dessers is low on confidence,” Miller said on BBC Sportsound, as quoted by BBC Sport. “I think he is toiling for his best form.”

Rangers

Important win

It may not have been pretty from the Glasgow outfit, but they picked up a very important win on home soil against Motherwell.

The visitors did not make it easy, taking the game to their hosts from the very first whistle, perhaps aware that Michael Beale’s men would be tired following their Europa League match.

Rangers went into the game on the back of an impressive victory against Real Betis on Thursday (21 September), a match they also won 1-0.

It was the perfect start to their European campaign, and they have now backed that up with another three points in the league, and another clean sheet.

As for Dessers, he will have been disappointed not to have intentionally got on the scoresheet against Motherwell, but even saying his name there may just raise his confidence levels at his new club.

It does, of course, take players time to settle in at Ibrox, but unfortunately Rangers supporters do not give their new recruits much time at all to prove their worth.
