Michael Beale sack pressure verdict revealed after Rangers win v Real Betis
Michael Beale has bought himself some “wriggle room” at Rangers after the win over Real Betis amid talk about the sack, according to the Daily Record.
The Gers had a tough few weeks before the international break as they crashed out of the Champions League and lost to Celtic at Ibrox, but have since bounced back with consecutive wins over St Johnstone and Betis.
With talk that Beale could be on the brink of the sack before those wins, the Scottish news outlet (23 September) asked their reporters if they believe he has bought himself some time with the most recent results.

“It does,” Scott Burns said. “It was a big one and maybe gives him a bit more wriggle room but as a Rangers boss he knows he has to win every game.
Fraser Wilson answered the same question and agreed, but said it would likely only last around two days.
“Yes. About two days. It was a massive result on the back of a decent win at St Johnstone and has eased the hurricane of flak heading his way. But fail to back it up with a home win over Motherwell tomorrow and that storm will be back.”
Michael Gannon then backed that up and claimed anything but a string of wins will see the pressure ramp up again.
“It should do – but this is Scotland and if there are any domestic slip ups the heat will be back on. Beale knows he needs to build a consistent run of form on the home front.”
Standards
Rangers are a huge football club and with that comes standards and expectations.
Losing games at the highest level is not something that fans are wired to just accept and after a huge suffer overhaul of the squad and fighting talk from the manager, big things were expected.

He failed to deliver and that rightly brought about questions about whether or not he is the right man to take the club forward and to where we want to be.
Recent performances have shown progress and improvement which can only be a good thing, but we can’t just forget the bad moments because of a couple of good ones.
He needs to show a consistent improvement and the next time we’re faced with a big game he needs to answer his critics properly to avoid another storm of criticism.
Beating Motherwell on Sunday is a start, and then getting through to the cup semi-finals and closing the gap on Celtic in the league will go some way to helping mend the relationship with fans.
