Michael Beale raves about ‘fantastic’ Jack Butland in Rangers win v Real Betis
Michael Beale has raved about Jack Butland following his performance in the Rangers victory over Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday (21 September).
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, the Gers boss said the 30-year-old has been “fantastic” during his short time at the club as he helped his side pick up a 1-0 win over the La Liga outfit at Ibrox.
He added that the English keeper has been “frustrated” by his lack of game time in recent years, but that he arrived in Glasgow looking to to show his “true level” and is already delivering on that.
“I think we signed a fantastic goalkeeper,” said Beale. “He came here and really wanted to show everybody his true level.
“He’s been frustrated over the last few years not playing as much and I think he’s already shown in his short time at Rangers that he’s a fantastic goalkeeper.”
Quality
It’s still early days in Butland’s career at Rangers, but he has shown his quality on numerous occasions already since arriving from Crystal Palace over the summer.
The keeper has hardly put a foot wrong this season and has made some huge saves at crucial times to earn his side some vital three points.
It was no different in the victory over Real Betis, as he kept another clean sheet – his fourth of the campaign – to receive yet more plaudits from the Ibrox faithful.

There have already been suggestions that it may not be too long before the Englishman makes the move back to the Premier League, but the Light Blues will be looking to ensure that doesn’t happen.
He will be crucial to any success the Gers have on the field this season and they will be hoping he sticks around for some time to come.
