‘Huge’ injury news as Tom Lawrence sparks Rangers fears v Real Betis

Rangers injury fears have already started after Tom Lawrence was forced off against Real Betis on Thursday 21 September, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper reported on its Twitter page that it was a “huge” loss despite it being described as a precautionary measure to substitute him at Ibrox.

Lawrence was missing for months before his return to action in recent weeks, although there will no doubt be checks at Auchenhowie from Friday 22 September.

Blow.

Another injury is the last thing this Rangers squad and Michael Beale needs right now.

Lawrence will likely miss the weekend clash with Motherwell at Ibrox as a precaution, but there will be everything crossed that it is not another long absence after scans.

The Welshman was just getting into his stride and you could see his confidence in the game with Real Betis, taking long-range efforts with ease, as one even hit the post.

Danilo, Nico Raskin and Todd Cantwell are already three big-name absences haunting the squad at this moment, so another one on top of that is not welcome.

The Rangers staff will be taking no risks with Lawrence, especially given his recent record, so hopefully, the precaution taken will mean he can return as soon as possible.

Sam Lammers did come on to replace him and played a big part in the opening goal, so hopefully, that will give him confidence if he is the man to step in.
