Ally McCoist sends message to Michael Beale after Rangers win v Real Betis

Ally McCoist has sent a message to Michael Beale after Rangers recorded a victory over Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday (21 September).

Speaking on TNT Sports after the game, the pundit said the Gers boss won’t get too carried away as he’s got “big games coming up” on the back of the 1-0 win over the La Liga side.

He added that the best way to relieve some of the pressure he’s currently under is to “keep on winning”, but admitted that is “easier said than done”.

“He’s got big games coming up,” said McCoist. “League games, cup games, Aberdeen he’s right to say they played well tonight, gave a good account of themselves.

“The best way to relieve the pressure as manager of Rangers is to keep on winning – easier said than done sometimes.”

Step forward

There is no doubt that the victory over Betis marks a step forward for Beale after a difficult few weeks for him and his Rangers side.

But he now has to back that up with some positive performances and results domestically, starting with Motherwell in the SPFL on Sunday (24 September).

It won’t be an easy task to claw back the four-point gap they currently have behind Celtic, but as McCoist points out, all they can do is keep winning games.

The Gers are starting to look more solid at the back after picking up another clean sheet against the Seville-based side and they will be looking to build upon that over the coming weeks.

There is still a lot of work to be done for Beale as he looks to get the majority of the fanbase back onside, but there have been signs over the past couple of games to suggest that the Light Blues are turning things around.

In other Rangers news, a pundit has raved about the difference one player has made recently at Ibrox.
