Kenny Miller raves about Kemar Roofe amid recent Rangers performances
Kenny Miller believes Kemar Roofe has made a “big difference” for Rangers since he returned to the side this season.
Speaking on the Scottish Football Podcast on Wednesday (20 September), the BBC Scotland pundit said the 30-year-old forward has the “striker instincts” that perhaps some other players don’t have.
He added that if the Jamaican international can stay fit, then he could be a “big player” for the Gers moving forward as they look to challenge for silverware this season.

“Sometimes it’s a player that can bring it together,” said Miller. “And it’s not necessarily a tactic or training, sometimes it’s a player. I think Kemar Roofe has made a big difference to the front three, front four, front two – whatever Michael (Beale) wants to call it.
“I think he’s made a difference because I think when he plays off the striker, off the left or he’s up there with a partner because he’s got those striker instincts, he wants to get in the box and run forward.
“If he can stay fit, build, get better and more used to the players around him, then he could be a big player for Rangers moving forward.”
Has to stay fit
There is no doubt that a fit and firing Roofe could be extremely important for Rangers as they look to compete well in Europe and challenge for the SPFL title this season.
But the priority will be trying to keep him fit after he made his first start in a year in the 2-0 victory over Ross County in August.
Roofe has scored 37 goals and laid on six assists in 83 appearances for the Light Blues since arriving from Belgian side Anderlecht in 2020 and he will be hoping to build upon that total.

He does provide something different to the other forward options and is now looking to have emerged as one of Beale’s first choices up top.
The Jamaican will be hoping to add to his solid goal record for the Gers in the Europa League game against Real Betis on Thursday (21 September) to help his side get off to a strong start in the competition.
In other Rangers news, Chris Jack has revealed two players will be out for at least a month.
