Jim White and Simon Jordan in agreement over ‘enormous’ Rangers as ‘underachieving’ claim made

Both Rangers and Celtic have been underachieving in the Champions League, according to talkSPORT host Jim White.

The host was discussing both Scottish clubs with talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan after Celtic’s defeat to Feyenoord.

Brendan Rodgers’s side lost 2-0 to the Dutch outfit in their Champions League group stage clash on Tuesday (19 September).

Speaking live on talkSPORT, Jordan said of White; “He’s degrading the value of this enormous football club that we have to listen to Jim talking to us about, Celtic and Rangers, these enormous footprints in world football.

White interjected: “You’ve seen them, they are,” with Jordan agreeing: “They are.” White then responded: “But they’re underachieving in the Champions League.”

Rangers

Massive clubs

Celtic and Rangers are, of course, massive clubs, not just in terms of Scottish football but in terms of world football.
Unfortunately, however, the two teams have not had a lot of success in Europe’s premier club competition in recent years.

The Bhoys are flying the flag for Scottish football in this season’s Champions League, but it remains to be seen how far they will get after being drawn into a very tough group involving Feyenoord, Lazio and Atletico Madrid.

But fans of the club will still be able to boast their presence in the competition to Rangers supporters, with Michael Beale’s men involved in the Europa League after exiting the Champions League at the play-off stage.

Having lost 7-3 on aggregate in that final qualifying round to Dutch giants PSV, the Gers have been drawn into Group C of the Europa League alongside Real Betis, Sparta Prague and Aris Limassol.

In other Rangers news, a journalist has mooted a “real blow” for the club after an injury to one player who “dares to be different.”
